My mom and I stayed because she had an appointment at U of I. Last year she had surgery there, and we stayed with you several days then. Both stays were very comfortable, and your food downstairs is really nice. The thing I really like is the convenience of the location; whether you are going to the mall or to the hospital it's a great location. We didn't use the shuttle this time, but the last time it was really a huge convenience for me and my family.
I'm not sure what to check on the list above. My 17 yr. old daughter and I stayed Sat. nite due to a campus visit for her future. I was extremely pleased with your facility and she and I had a comfortable, safe and relaxing conclusion to our weekend. Thank you very much.
I received an up-grade from the room I booked (king room to king suite!) It was the most relaxing night I've ever spend in a hotel. The hotel is quiet, the breakfast it excellant, with lots of choices. Staff is courtiess. The hotel has a shuttle to the U of IA Hospitals, which is one of the main reasons I chose it. The shuttle driver was helpful and on time. In short -- I enjoyed everything about my stay, and I will be returning.
Can't think of anything.
It was conveniently located for our family visit. IF this had NOT been a football weekend, the $79 rate would have been excellent. Fresh cookies at desk! And always available coffee, cocoa dispenser.
We did not realize this was a Football Weekend at U. of I., and instead of the usual $79 rate, we were charged $219 for two of our four nights. We weren’t there for the game, and resented the cost increase. Also, the breakfast area was very small for the number of people, and the food selection a little sparse, compared, say, to a Hampton Inn. Also, we had no idea the clientele was largely Hospital patients - frankly a little off-putting to come down to breakfast among obviously infirm people with varying disabilities. Not a great vacation vibe... And I missed having even a rudimentary gym room. Because of the rather busy roads, I couldn’t go for a run, either.
The carpet and rooms are being updated and look great and clean.
The door leading from the outside did not always lock behind us. (Very minor)
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The room smelled like a bar (a mixture of beer and cigarettes). The parking lot was full from the bar and parking was difficult. The hotel decor is very dated. The pool is very small.
Jacuzzi room needs ceiling fan to circulate air.
The rates were more reasonable than others we found that were available in the area.
They were doing construction at the entrance which made it difficult to get in. They should have made another temp entrance rather than trying to manuver through scaddolding while work was in progress. Also the parking lot was in great need if repair. We were going to use the pool, but there were 5u others in it and it was very small so we didnt wait.
Everyone was more than helpful and caring. . The Breakfast area was wonderful. It was a good place for us and we will be back. Thank you
The bars of soap so small I did not feel I could get clean.....otherwise nice.
Heartland Inn was clean & comfortable and served our purpose well.
When I turned on the jets of the jacuzzi, it smelled like often eggs and mold which filled the room with a stinky smell for my duration.
Nice breakfast, served early enough to meet my schedule. Walking distance to several good restaurants.
The pillows were a bit too fat for my comfort, but that is a minor issue. Hard to get in & out of parking lot during rush hour.
Very nice upgrade to suite was nice although not able to use the hot tub very comfortable air was adjustable very good temp nice big screen tv
No hot water in morning for shower did not know all the golf teams for several collages were staying there for a tournament and by 6:40 all were at breakfast so not much on the buffet by then no seating
close to Carver-Hawkeye Arena and restaurants.
Computers were easy to access and use.
The Booked.net advertisement said free parking was available but there might be a charge for the transportation. It was a surprise to find out that there was a $25 charge for parking. I hope someone will change the advertisement so it will reflect reality. I would have made other arrangements for my car if I have known parking was $25.
